The SRF Lessons are available for anyone that wishes to study them. Self-Realization Fellowship offers meditations plus energy-recharging and concentration exercises, as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda. These are an integral part of the science of Kriya Yoga. Yogoda Satsanga Society of India disseminates the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. If you reside outside of one of these countries, please apply for the Lessons through Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF). SRF is our sister society, which Paramahansaji founded in 1920 to disseminate.
The New York City Center is a branch of Self-Realization Fellowship, a world-wide religious movement founded by Paramahansa Yogananda, the author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi.
The purpose of Self-Realization Fellowship is to disseminate a knowledge of definite scientific techniques of yoga meditation for attaining direct personal experience of God.

As Paramahansa Yogananda has said,
“Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”

It is with great joy that we share with you the news that the NYC Center will be resuming Thursday evening services, beginning on July 29th. This will include the Meditation Service at 6:30 p.m. and the Inspirational Service at 7:00 p.m.
This past year has provided us with wonderful opportunities to gather together virtually for meditations, study classes, retreats, Convocation and other special events. And now, we warmly invite you to join us once more for in-person services.
In caring for your well-being, we have implemented some changes at the Center including:

- Touch-free hand-sanitizer units available upon entry and at restroom locations
- Upgraded cleaning and disinfection procedures
- Creation of more space to allow for more distance between rows of chairs in the main chapel
- Enhanced air filtration in our HVAC system
- Offertory baskets not being passed during services (After the service there will be baskets available where you can place your donation gifts.)
Regarding the wearing of masks, per Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines:
- Masks are optional for the vaccinated
- Masks are required for the unvaccinated and partially vaccinated
Please note that we recommend that you continue to attend services online if you are immunocompromised or have a serious health condition.
If all goes well at our Thursday services, we plan to gradually reintroduce Sunday Services and other activities. It may be a while before we are able to resume Sunday School and Bookroom activities.
Please note that at this time we are asking that children under the age of 12 not attend, until we are able to offer Sunday School again.
